The biggest hurdle to learning a new language is memorizing enough words. To understand 80% of a movie you need to know the top 1000 most frequently used words. To achieve conversational fluency, you need to learn the top 2500 most frequently used words. Our Textbook

Have you ever wondered why people study a foreign language for years yet still struggle to use it in practice? For instance, they might watch a movie but can't understand it even after two years of learning. We analyzed several leading language textbooks and discovered that none of them focus on the most frequently used concepts (among words, grammar rules, etc.). Surprisingly, even after two years of study, these textbooks cover only about 50% of the top 1,000 most frequently used words. This explains why many language learners feel they put in extensive effort without making significant progress.

Determined to address these issues, we created a new type of textbook. Each unit contains the next most frequently used concepts, including words, phrases, and grammar rules. This approach ensures that every bit of effort learners invest will yield the greatest return possible, helping them achieve language proficiency faster.

We all know that language is learned most quickly and easily when watching movies and TV shows. The challenge is overcoming the initial hurdle of learning enough words to understand 80% of a movie. This is the key to learning a new language. Our engineers at Genius Flame analyzed movie subtitles and found that learning the 1,000 most frequently used words allows one to understand 80% of a movie.

We assigned a rank to each word, rank 1 being the most frequently used concept. A word with a lower rank is more valuable to learn than one with a higher rank. Learning all words ranked between 1 and 1,000 enables a person to understand 80% of a movie. Learning all words ranked between 1 and 2,000 allows for 88% comprehension. Our dialogues cover all words ranked between 1 and 1,000 and 50% of the words ranked between 1,001 and 2,000. This means that after learning all dialogues by heart, a person can understand around 85% of a movie. We minimized the use of words ranked above 2,000 to reduce the effort required to learn our dialogues.
